Julyness

Hey Kittens.

It’s us again… you know, that band you like so much that you sit by your computers everyday awaiting our posts?! ;-)

If you didn’t notice with our last post, we have some exciting news this month for those living in Melbourne-town. This August, for ONE NIGHT ONLY we are
heading your way and playing a fantastic line up at The Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood. Would be awesome to see some of our Melbournian fans coming and getting wild for the night with us and other awesome Melbourne bands Nebraskatak and The Give! This is going to be one fantastic night of music and fun, so make sure you don’t miss out.

August 1st @ The grace darling hotel - Melbourne

For our homedog Adelaide friends, do NOT stress, we will be back to playing a show for you again soon too! A gig will be announced next month. And for the rest of you… well, at least you will always have this blog ;-)

"

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

Hellloooooo Lovers!

So it may appear as if we’ve been doing nothing at all lately… but actually we have been busy little two eyed bees behind the scenes getting our creative juices flowing, writing new tunes, demoing in the studio, eating schnitzels and drinking cider. Matty got married last month, so he’s been out of action on his honeymoon the last few weeks (or perhaps “getting action” would be the more appropriate term!)… ahem.

Anyway, we aren’t quite finished yet, so we will still be having a bit of a break from shows until around July-August. But from now on we plan on keeping in better touch with you all.

In the meantime, what’s up with you guys? H
it us up for a chat on twitter if you’re that way inclined! We’d love to hear from you.

Happy 2013!

Hey freaks,

Sorry for the hiatus from Tumblr, we (cleverly) lost our login details and therefore haven’t been able to update. We know, we’re stupid. But the good news is, we’ve found it again so you lot can hear a little more from us! Not sure if that’s good news or bad news for you, but we don’t care!

We are about to hit up the studio to start recording some new tracks for EP #2, so we’ll keep you posted about that. We will be having a bit of a break from shows in the mean time to help us get our creative juices flowing, if you know what we mean… cough. Anyway.

A huge thank you to all those who came to check out our last couple of shows - a rocking night at the Cranker on February 22 with our good buds Full Contact Safari who totally rocked the house, and our set at the UniSA Gear Up Festival for O’Week on February 27. It means a lot to us to see your lovely faces enjoying our tunes!

Peace out and you’ll hear from us again soon!

Love,

L2E xx

Tour Recap!

Hello darlings,

We thought we’d just give you a little recap from our Victorian tour last month! If this is too difficult for you to read because you MISSED OUT (shame on you), we… understand. Maybe.

After setting off super early Thursday morning (July 19) with our band “BFFs” The Sun and The Sky we arrived in Melbourne early evening, just in time for our Melbournian EP Launch at the Brunswick Hotel. A huge thank you to our wonderful support acts Brightly and Roslyn Heavy who rocked the pants off everyone in the room prior to us hitting the stage. It was an awesome gig overall and thank you to everyone who showed up to support us/check it out. The inaugural “tour drinking competition” between Little Two Eyes and The Sun and The Sky also kicked off - with L2E winning the first night with flying colours. L2E: 1 - The Sun and The Sky: 0.

Friday morning saw us getting up nice and early to see the new Batman movie at the IMAX. This resulted in many Bruce Wayne and Bane imitations and references for the remainder of the trip, including parading around drunkenly wearing Hamish’s Batman mask. Yes, it was awesome.

We then braved Melbourne peak hour traffic (we’re never complaining about Adelaide’s traffic again… ever) to make our interview and acoustic performance of ‘Silence’ with Asylum TV. If you missed it or would like to see the footage, click here (we start at around the 15 minute mark). Thank you to Asylum TV for having us, hopefully we’ll see you again soon!

We then headed to RMIT for our radio interview with SYN, and to perform ‘The One Who Loves to Dream’. Thank you to anyone that listened and to SYN for having us.

We then hit the town (after getting lost… oops) with The Sun and The Sky and our entourage that we brought with us from Adelaide (we’re kind of a big deal… people know us…) Unfortunately Little Two Eyes was not as on their game that night, with the lone ranger Tim from The Sun and The Sky leveling the drinking score 1-1. Geelong would be the decider!

Saturday saw us checking out of our hotel, hitting the streets of Melbourne for a spot of shopping, and heading to Geelong! Geelong’s Barwon Club was quite an intimate (…cough) gig for both Little Two Eyes and The Sun and The Sky, which led to much crazy dancing and rocking out. Post-gig, the drinking competition decider took place. The Sun and The Sky fought valiantly (not you Tim, not you Sam, not you Simon… this is uncomfortable….) but Alex, assisted slightly by Bella, drank them to the ground! We were definitely not humble victors, and were definitely feeling those last few gins on the drive home on Sunday, at 9am…

Overall, our Victorian EP release tour was a great time, and we’re looking forward to heading back sometime later on in the year.

Peace out playas!
